Description

The curriculum provides a framework for education in Industrial Management and Engineering. The learning outcomes, objectives, content, methods and assessment criteria of the courses are described. Learning is based on the student first acquiring factual knowledge that is gradually built on in order to develop students' ability to apply, reflect, develop and evaluate future decision-making in companies and other organizations during their studies. Sustainable development is the foundation of our future. Therefore, issues related to sustainability are included in many of our courses, sometimes as central content, sometimes as a setting. From UN's 17 goals for sustainable development, number 7 (Affordable and clean energy), 9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure) and 12 (Responsible consumption and production) are central in our education. Also goals number 5 (Gender equality), 8 (Decent work and economic growth), 11 (Sustainable cities and communities) and 13 (Climate action) are covered in our courses.

Education in Industrial Management and Engineering is the combination of technical and economic know-how with a view to career opportunities in industry. The programme includes courses and course modules in mathematics, technology/technology, business administration, industrial marketing, Strategic Account Management and technical sales, business analysis, production planning, logistics and new technologies. The importance of an entrepreneurial mindset is highlighted both from the employee's and the entrepreneur's perspective, nationally and internationally.

Objective

Within the degree program, students learn the skills required to have versatile career opportunities both in the field of technology and economics.

During the education, students develop a professional way of understanding production technology and logistics in the mechanical industry and basic economic factors in business such as accounting, marketing and business development. Furthermore, the student gains an understanding of decision-making and leadership in organizations. Within the education, the student also develops an entrepreneurial mindset.

The student gains an understanding of sustainability issues, their importance and the challenges and opportunities a green transition entails.
