Description

The aim of the programme is for students to learn to master the newest and most important technologies in the IT industry.

During their studies, students learn to handle IT concepts, make needs analyses and design new innovative solutions based on real needs. By combining theory and practice, students work with problem solving by planning and constructing IT solutions to problems themselves, or in groups. The focus is on web applications and mobile applications, but the training also provides competencies for creating solutions for embedded systems and workstations. The first two years are completed basic studies and joint professional studies. Specialization takes place in the third and fourth year.

Sustainable development is the foundation of our future. Therefore, issues related to sustainability are included in many of our courses, sometimes as central content, sometimes as a setting. From UN's 17 goals for sustainable development, number 7 (Affordable and clean energy), 9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure) and 12 (Responsible consumption and production) are central in our education. Also goals number 5 (Gender equality), 8 (Decent work and economic growth), 11 (Sustainable cities and communities) and 13 (Climate action) are covered in our courses.

Objective

The aim of the programme is for students to learn to master the latest and most important technologies in the IT industry. During the education, students develop a professional way of understanding information technology and how technology is used in our technological society.

'The studies are divided into basic studies and professional studies. Basic studies include mathematics, physics, languages and economics. Vocational studies build up trade union competence and create a professional identity. The in-depth professional studies focus on programming and the concept of DevOps. DevOps is a method that unites programming and software development into a continuous process.
