Digital tools in business: Advanced excel, Power BI, social media marketing, advanced Power Point, Power Apps, web page tools (HTML and CSS), digital tools for communication in the team, databases (SQL), project management tools, VBA for Excel.

Competence objectives of the study unit
The objective of the course is to provide students with the skill to use different digital tools needed in their field of business. The students will demonstrate competency by completing individual projects.
Content:
Digital tools in business: Advanced excel, Power BI, advanced Power Point, digital tools for communication in the team, project management tools, Microsoft Visio, Adobe Photohop/Illustrator/InDesign/XD, Robotic Process Automation, UI-path.
Learning objectives:
The student will choose 5 modules (each module is 2 cr) among 6 different modules.
Learning objective of module 1: Business Communication
The student can use programs for digital communication (Office 365) and and can visually present processes and organizational structures (Microsoft Visio)
Learning objective of module 2: Adobe programs – based on prior knowledge.
Student can choose between beginner’s courses or more advanced courses in the Adobe programs Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, based on the prior knowledge.
Learning objective of module 3: Advanced Excel
The student can use more advanced excel functions and create pivot tables and charts.
Learning objective of module 4: Business Intelligence
The student has the ability to use business intelligence tools in Excel (Power Query and Power Pivot) and visually present data (Power BI)
Learning objective of module 5: Robotic process automation
The student has a basic understanding of the concept of Robotic Process Automation and the possibilities of Robotic Process Automation in their field of business. The students can program a process robot in UI-path.
Learning objective of module 6: User Experience Design
The student has the basic knowledge of user experience design when it comes to creating user friendly and good-looking apps and websites. The student can use Adobe programs to create the UX Design.
Student workload
Each module is 2 cr = 54 hours of work (6 hours in class and 48 hours individual work)
The course will require 270 hours of work ( approx 7 hours per week over a 40 week period)

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
The student presents and returns a portfolio. The student has a basic understanding of the subject and has done a part of the practical tasks.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
The student has a good portfolio and a good presentation of the portfolio. The student has a good understanding of the subject and the practical task is well done.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student has an excellent portfolio and an excellent presentation of the portfolio. The student has an in-depth understanding of the subject and the practical task has been done with excellence.
