Objective

The student
- knows the basic anatomy and physiology of plants
- knows about the plants' uptake and transport of nutrients
- knows the botany and production biology of cultivated plants
- can use development scales for cereals and oilseeds and knows development scales for other crops
- understands the different purposes of cereal cultivation and can, on the basis of plant physiological principles, choose a suitable cultivation technique
- knows the key parameters of product quality and knows how to achieve different quality goals
- know the wintering strategies of the cultivated plants and factors that influence wintering.

Botany and Production biology
Development scales for crops, focused on cereals and oil seed crops
General principles and Cultivation techniques for cereals and oil seed crops
Parameters for product quality, focused on cereals and oil seed crops
Wintering strategies of plants, focused on cereals and oil seed crops
The course is based on several of the global sustainability goals, mainly the goals of Responsible consumption and production, Life on land and the Climate action.
