Objective

Competence objectives of the study period (course)

The student:
- is be able to express herself/himself in speech and in writing in professional situations in a professional way, including the ability to serve customers and communicate with colleagues and collaborators
- is familiar with he basic terminology in the field, and be able to read professional literature within the field
- demonstrates such skills in the Finnish language as are in accordance with the law (424/2003) for personnel in public bodies. This means that the student must show satisfactory (grade 1, 2 or 3) or good (grade 4 or 5) skills in speaking and writing Finnish. Written and oral skills are assessed separately.

Content

Oral and written communication. Central terminology in the respective professional fields.

Qualifications

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student demonstrates a superficial competence and basic understanding of the subject.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student demonstrates competence that relates to and connects with the literature.
The student can reflect on and justify their own viewpoints.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student has advanced competence and demonstrates a deeper understanding of the subject in relation to the upcoming profession.
