The student understands and is able to apply the principles for the rigid body mechanics to equilibrium problems.

Content

Statics:
• Calculate the resultant of a force system.Solution of 2 and 3-dimensional equilibrium problems.Application of equilibrium equations when calculating statically determined structures. (e.g. frameworks)
• Equilibrium solutions to rigid bodies problems, calculations of center of gravity.
• Calculation of mechanisms.
• The impact friction has on static equilibrium problems.
• Calculation of mechanisms by means of principles of virtual work
