The student:
- takes part in a multi-professional team and creates a natural caring relationship with the patient
- communicates with patients and colleagues mainly at basic level in Swedish or Finnish, even though the main supervision is in English
- follows general rules and routines in the working environment
- can under supervision perform, implement and evaluate basic care
- is familiar with the specific needs of a patient
- can demonstrate evidence-based nursing methods and interventions in basic care
- develops respect for the patients' integrity and autonomy
- understands and can demonstrate aseptic and safe working methods

The supervision/evaluation during the practice will be scheduled individually

Student workload

The student must do 40 hours/week clinical training.
4 weeks = 160 hours clinical training
8 hours is counted for practice information and practice seminar

Further information

Compulsory attendance.
No days can be counted of for sick leave or participation in other courses or exams
The student must follow the rules and routines in the nursing home.
It is the student responsibility to be in contact with the supervising teacher to schedule meetings for supervision and evaluation.
Practice assignment and time schedule is handed in during the practice seminar.
