Objective
The student:
- is familiar with the specific caring needs of a disabled or an elderly patient and has good insights into the organization of care for persons with special needs and elderly patients in our society
- can carry out the nursing process in both elderly nursing care or nursing care for the client with special needs
- takes part in a multiprofessional team and create a natural caring relationship with the patient/client
- communicates, at least on a basic level, in Swedish and/or Finnish with the patient, and be able to follow the general rules and routines in a working environment
- demonstrates respect for the patient´s integrity and autonomy, understand the fundamentals of rehabilitation and demonstrate an ability to support the patient in the rehabilitation process
- performs safe drug administration under supervision
- has safe working methods

It is possible to do clinical training abroad. The student can do it through NordPlus or Erasmus networks or to find a hospital themselves. A learning agreement must be signed by all three partners before the internship can start.
