The Student:
- provide client-centered/person-centered basic nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, documenting, and reporting care in collaboration with the patient and their relatives, demonstrating a reflective and ethical approach to nursing practice
- conduct a basic nursing assessment of human fundamental needs and vital functions, applying central nursing care methods to support holistic patient care
- assess nutritional status, plan, and administer nutritional therapy according to patient needs
- perform basic wound care and apply appropriate bandaging techniques
- apply aseptic techniques in nursing procedures and justify aseptic practices
- utilize ergonomic work methods and integrate rehabilitative care principles into patient care
- develop and document nursing care plans following the nursing process and the Finnish classification system (FinCC)
- utilize functional measurements to support clinical decision-making
- understand and implement sustainable development principles in nursing care to promote environmental, patient, and caregiver well-being
- perform life-saving first aid in emergencies

Criteria for Evaluation of the Exam
The student demonstrates only a superficial understanding of the subject.

Assessment Criteria for Written Work
The student follows the instructions but shows inadequate familiarity with other students' work. Their knowledge of the subject is limited, though they may grasp some essential aspects.

Despite following the instructions for the written work, the student demonstrates insufficient knowledge of both the subject matter and other students' work, with only a minimal understanding of key concepts.

The student demonstrates the ability to reference relevant literature, critically reflect, and justify their viewpoints effectively.

Exceptional written work and participation in opposition may be characterized by outstanding technical execution, a compelling oral presentation, insightful reflections, and an independent approach to the assignment.
