Objective

The Student:
- understands the significance of human sexuality across the life span and can integrate sexuality as an essential component of the individual’s identity, health, and nursing care
- demonstrates understanding of sexual and reproductive health and rights and is familiar with national and international guidelines and recommendations in this area
- can recognize signs of sexual violence and respond appropriately in situations of suspicion, following ethical and legal responsibilities
- possesses basic knowledge of normal pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, including related nursing care
- is familiar with the most common gynecological symptoms and conditions, their underlying pathophysiology, prevention strategies, nursing interventions, and treatment options
- knows the most common gynecological cancers, including their pathophysiology, risk factors, preventive measures, nursing care, and treatment approaches
- understands the importance of health promotion and preventive care across the life span and can provide individualized guidance that supports self-care and utilizes the patient’s resources
- is capable of planning and documenting nursing care following the Finnish Care Classification (FinCC) system
