Objective

The Student:
- demonstrates an understanding of the significance of child- and family-centered nursing care
- can articulate the normal physical, psychological, and developmental milestones of children and adolescents and recognize deviations from these norms
- effectively applies a health-promoting approach in the care of children and adolescents
- is proficient in identifying health problems, risks, and environments that impact the well-being of children, adolescents, and their families
- possesses a comprehensive understanding of the unique characteristics of pediatric nursing care
- has in-depth knowledge of nursing care protocols for managing the most common pediatric diseases
- is skilled in advanced medication management tailored to pediatric patients
- can accurately assess and analyze the nursing care needs of pediatric patients
- demonstrates proficiency in nursing care planning and documentation in accordance with the Finnish classification system
- recognizes the signs of child abuse and knows the appropriate actions to take when abuse is suspected
- understands the principles of resuscitation and is capable of performing essential care measures for critically ill children
