Objective

After completing the course, the student is expected to:
- Know the different purposes for the most common steel and sheet metal profiles
- Be familiar with ordinary steel construction, and know the purposes for which steel construction is suitable / not suitable

Content

- Purpose of use for steel in construction technology
- The manner and processing of steel production
- The applications of ordinary steel and sheet metal profiles
- Manufacture, transport and assembly of steel structures
- The structural structure of hall buildings and house buildings with steel frame
- Rust protection
- Fire protection
- Design of curved rod with respect to cross-sectional class, bending, transverse force and deflection
- Dimensioning of compressed rod with respect to buckling
- Simple welding joints and bolt joints
