Objective

The student:
- is familiar with the health risks caused by asbestos and mould in connection with reconstruction work
- is aware of various ways to find information and is able to use them
- knows which surveys should be conducted before a specific work phase commences
- is familiar with harmful chemicals used in construction work
- knows which harmful dust particles occur in the air when reconstruction is done
- demonstrates skills to quickly map out the presence of asbestos and mould on a reconstruction site and to take swift measures in order to protect himself/herself and the employees.

Content

The following areas are included:
- Regulations, legislation
- Basics in chemistry
- Harmful substances: mercury, coal tar, PCB and lead compounds
- Asbestos
- Radon
- Mold
- Building material from the hay point of view during the construction process
- Fighting dust
- The chemistry of society
