Objective

After completing the course, the student will understand what production simulation means and what benefits can be achieved by using simulation. Students can use different simulation programs to visualize and optimize production operations and have the skills required to carry out a simulation project.

In addition, the student should be able to:
-Evaluate their own work and that of others
-Critically study and give feedback to report works
-Crictically evaluate different technical methods
-Account for and discuss opinions
-Argument and reason around technical questionsSe matrisen

Content

Simulation, theory and practice.
Modeling a factory floor.
Optimization of material flow, identification of bottlenecks, sequencing (reduction of blockages and waiting times), dimensioning of manufacturing and transport resources.
Cost calculation for simulations.
Flow simulations with logic program.
Simulation of order intake and scheduling.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Knows the importance of simulation in the manufacturing process.
On request, can analyze a simulation model made
Knows the connection between production flow, production capital cost and profitability
Knows some of the area's central concepts in a foreign language
Can participate in a discussion about production simulation and modeling

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Can make a model for simulation of production in a simulation program.
Can independently analyze and improve a model made
Understands how the dynamic production process can affect profitability, output and cash flow
Can understand texts in a foreign language that deal with the current theme
Can hold a presentation about production simulation and modeling

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Kan optimera olika modeller, genom att kunna påpeka obalanser i produktionsflödet och öppna flaskhalsar.
Kan utvärdera och föreslå förbättringar för en simuleringsmodell
Kan föreslå förbättringar som påverkar företagets lönsamhet, output och kassaflöde
Kan ta del av litteratur på ett främmande språk om produktions-simulering
Kan beskriva och förklarasimuleringens roll och betydelse i produktionen
