Objective
The student will be able to:
- document their own research, investigation or development work relevant to the construction industry in writing, in accordance with specified writing instructions, including statistical analysis of data
- explain the meaning of statistics, statistical methods and probability
- perform basic statistical calculations and present the material graphically
Content
Numerical and statistical methods in MS Excel
Effective use of MS Word and Excel with inserted equations and images / charts
The outline of scientific reports and final work
Qualifications
The Math Course Functions and equations 1 or similar knowledge
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The course is graded on a pass/fail basis.
The course requires active attendance and participation in lectures and compulsory exercises.
To pass the course, the student must receive a passing grade on all assignments and presentations.
