Objective

The student will be able to:
- the basics of dimensioning and has sufficient prior knowledge for the following courses in structural mechanics and dimensioning
- key elements in structural mechanics as tools for future courses and assignments
- calculate force magnitudes with emphasis on the principle of equilibrium.
- understand structural mechanics problems
- make clear calculations and present them
- correctly use the concepts and terminology of the subject area
- seek out suitable sources to expand their knowledge in the field

Content

- Construction types & loads
- Force, bending moment, force system
- Equilibrium conditions, support reactions
- Trusses
- Calculation of internal forces of statically determined structures (beams, frames)
- Deformation calculations
- Handbook formulas

Qualifications

The math course Functions and Equations 1 or similar knowledge
