Objective

The student will be able to:
- navigate and use Novia's digital environments and services, including the intranet, Moodle, Peppi, Lukkarikone, the study guide, Haka login, Eduroam and the helpdesk.
- identify available software and digital resources offered during their studies.
- use Novia's email system, follow email etiquette and communicate effectively via Webex and Teams in connection with online and hybrid studies.
- manage files and documents in a secure and structured manner in OneDrive and on Novia's file server.
- use and apply features in Office 365 apps such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint to support studies and collaboration.
• Create digitally accessible documents and reports in accordance with applicable accessibility principles and superficially check the accessibility of web pages.
• Reflect on the use of social media in studies and its impact on learning and communication.
• Perform basic calculations and visualisations in MathCad to support technical or mathematical tasks.

- Novia's computers, networks and digital services (Intranet, Peppi, Lukkarikone, study guide, Hakainloggning, Eduroam, helpdesk (user rights and obligations)
- Information about software available to students during their studies
- Novia email
- Moodle from a student perspective
- Communication tools and principles for online and hybrid studies (Webex, Teams)
- Efficient and secure storage and file management, Onedrive
- Apps in O365 for efficient and smooth studies with an emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, but also Forms, OneNote and more as needed.
- Digital accessibility in documents, reports and degree projects
- Social media in studies
- Basics of MathCad

Qualifications

No prerequisites

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The course is graded on a pass/fail basis.
The course requires active attendance and participation in lectures and compulsory exercises.
To pass the course, the student must receive a passing grade on all assignments and presentations.
