Objective
The student will be able to:
- solve first and second degree inequalities
- solve higher degree polynomial equations and is familiar with the corresponding functions and their properties
- describe the properties of the most common real functions and can solve the corresponding
equations
- recognise the equations for conic sections
- use the mathematical tools covered in the course in an innovative way to solve
problems in new situations

- exponential and logarithm functions and corresponding equations
- line optimization (or other current theme)
- circle, ellipse and hyperbola
