Objective

The student will be able to:
- apply correct measurements for planning living spaces in accordance with good building practice
- prepare building permit documents
- draw up main drawings so that all information required by building legislation and instructions is included

Content

The studies involve students working in pairs to plan a small, simple residential building on an existing detailed plan plot.

Students become familiar with detailed plans, building and room dimensions, and the general organisation inside a house and on a detailed plan plot. The goal is to create building permit documents for a functional house. The documents are presented according to the authorities' instructions.

Each student presents their drawings and describes them orally to an audience, i.e. the entire student group taking the course.

Qualifications

The educational module Introduction to Building Techniques and the math course Functions and Equations 1, or similar knowledge

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The course is graded on a pass/fail basis.
The course requires active attendance and participation in lectures and compulsory exercises.
To pass the course, the student must receive a passing grade on all assignments and presentations.
