The student shows insufficient knowledge about the other students' assignments. The student has followed the instructions for the assignment. She/He have a deficient knowledge of the substance also touching the essential

The student has followed the instructions for the assignment and shows that she/he has mastered the substance. She/he have read the other participants' assignments and can ask relevant questions and can lead a discussion at the seminar. The assignment and the possible opponentship show something out of the ordinary (technical execution, oral presentation, mature reflections, independent working methods)

Interviews with an official/professional in the social and health care sector and/or with an active politician in a wellbeing services county.

Bedömningsmetoder (förverkligande) och -kriterier (studieperioder/kurser)

The examination assignments must be submitted according to the deadlines indicated on the course page in Moodle. Students may supplement and/or improve their grade within one month after assessment with regard to one or more of the assignments submitted during the course. Each assignment will be assessed within three weeks after its deadline.

Studerandes tidsanvändning och belastning

The course comprises 5 ECTS credits, corresponding to approximately 135 hours of student work (self-study, written assignments, online lectures, final seminar). The workload includes three written assignments, two online lectures, and one online seminar.

The course Moodle page will open no later than one week before the course starts.

AI in examination assignments may be used to structure or get tips regarding the content in the various tasks. However, using AI to write the content (text itself) in the examination assignments will be considered cheating. The use of AI may therefore affect the assessment.

a) Media monitoring of social and health care issues
b) Reflections on participation and inclusion in social and health care

Essay with deadline 1.6 (3 ECTS):
The Nordic welfare model in comparison with other welfare models, the challenges and future prospects of the Finnish welfare state (literature studies, written assignment).

The final grade for the course is based on the average of the grades received for the submitted assignments (scale 1–5 for all assignments).

Underkänd (0)

The student has not submitted all examination assignments. The assignments do not follow the given instructions. The submitted examination assignments are extremely brief or incomplete.

The student has submitted all examination assignments, but the assignments are brief or contain several deficiencies. Instructions are followed only partially. Demonstrates limited understanding of the content; analysis is superficial and argumentation weak. References and examples are few or unclear.

The assignments are complete and generally follow the instructions. Demonstrates good understanding of key concepts and ability to analyze, although depth may vary. Argumentation is clear and supported by relevant examples and references. Language and structure are functional, with minor shortcomings at grade 3 and well-developed at grade 4.

The assignments are complete, well-structured, and follow the instructions carefully. Demonstrates very good understanding, independence, and ability for critical analysis.
