Studieperiodens (kursens) lärandemål
The aim of the course is to give a thorough understanding of global offshore wind project developments; offshore wind farm project and vessel case studies; wind farm project developers and vessel owners/operators responsibilities and working together to overcome challenges; wind farm heavy lift; construction and installation vessels; crew transfer vessels and safety practices; governance and regulation of offshore wind sector and impacts on vessels; offshore construction contracts and marine engineering contracts; employment and manning in different jurisdictions, supply strategies and operations of rigs; environmental policies and liabilities, new-building's and recycling of offshore installations, outsourcing operations; analyze different methods of rig mooring and positioning; issues of drilling safety and blowout prevention; new drilling approaches and highly automated rigs; differences in operations of the major rig drilling types including: jack-up drilling rigs, semi-submersible drilling rigs, drill ships. The economical aspect in offshore industry is connected to the future research and diminishing needs for fossil fuels. Use of autonomous support vessels in operations.
After completing the course the students:
- Are able to plan offshore and windmill operations of the vessels of the company. They are aware of the project leadership demands as well as economics and liabilities of the project entity.
- Understand safety and environmental planning are essential elements of the abilities of the students as well as the risk management in operations. Managing Contracts concerning heavy lifts and
windmills transportation are key elements of the student´s abilities together with increasing autonomy in this field.
- Are able to plan employment and manning as well as outsourcing the projects economically and efficiently.
- Are familiar with safety and security of the installation management considering the use of MASS vessels. Use of autonomous support vessels in operations.
