Descriptions

The Master’s Programme in Circular Design is an interdisciplinary and future-oriented blended learning programme comprising 60 ECTS credits over three semesters. Blended learning means the programme is delivered flexibly, with most teaching and interactions taking place online. The programme is primarily aimed at professionals from various sectors who want to contribute to a sustainable transition through design and problem-solving.

Here, design is understood as a broad practice of change—not only product design, but also strategic development, change leadership, processes, communication, service design, and system innovation. Any problem or challenge that requires a solution can constitute a design process where solutions are sought.
The programme is based on the premise that extensive systemic transitions are necessary to achieve a more sustainable future. In a time marked by overconsumption, uncertainty, polycrisis, and rapid change, the programme offers a compass rather than a map. It builds on collaborative problem-solving, cross-sectoral cooperation, and an exploratory approach to future skills and methods.

Through content ranging from circular economy and material science to futures thinking, communication, inner transformation, and creative complexity, students are equipped to initiate and lead design and change processes that promote sustainable societal development.

The programme includes an independent thesis project, preferably linked to the student’s professional context.
