Objective

The student will be familiar with general machinery systems onboard, how the different systems work onboard and their regulations. Furthermore, the student must be able to understand and use the correct terms.

• Propulsion lina and main engine bearings, shaftlines and its components
• Propellers, clutches
• Auxiliary engines
• Ship heating
• Steering and manouvering systems
• Stabilizers
• Safety, fire protection, emergency exits, flooding
