Objective
The student
- understands the importance of long-term sustainable forestry
- knows the reasons for maintaining forests without the use of clearcuttings
- knows the national database of forest assets and can use the service at www.minskog.fi in relation to forest farming
- knows what a forestry plan contains and with the help of it can estimate the importance of forestry
in relation to the entire activity of a farming company
- can roughly estimate volume, growth and harvesting opportunities in terrain
- knows the conditions for cultivation of broadleaf and mixed forests
- knows other products from the forests ( nonwood-products)
- knows forest ensurances and other forms of support for forest damages

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The written exam will be evaluated by grade 0 - 5 according to the motivations in the answers and a logical thinking process (red string) in the forestry planning process for specified and selected purposes
At least 50 % of the points in the written exam is required for an acceptable grade in the written exam (grade 0 - 5)
The result and grade for the group work (project work) might influence the total course grade, for the individual student, by - 1 to + 1 grade step
