    Competence objectives of the study unit
    The student
    - has learned the basics of animal husbandry focusing on the chemical content of fodder and various feed components, including full feed mixes, based on the energy and nutrient needs of different animal species
    - understands the interaction between fodder and concentrate
    - can design suitable feed strategies and plan animal husbandry taking into account various factors influencing the interpretation of a feeding plan, and can evaluate the feeding plan
    - can use different feed optimisation programs, such as Kokompassen, and can perform simple daily calculations based on the economic value of the feed and milk in euro / cow / day

    Animal care basics with focus on feeding (feed requirements, deficiency symptoms, etc)
    Interaction between different feed components (feed states and feed calculations)
    Available tools/software for feed calculation in the market
