Objective

The student
- recognises the geological and ecological formation processes of peatlands
- knows the classification grounds for natural peatlands
- can take into account how drainage (dredging) affects a wetland ecosystem
- can judge dredging possibilities in a peat field and plan the process
- can apply water treatment measures when dredging
- understands the changing nutrient conditions of peatlands
- understands the sustainability dimensions of peatlands
- can provide care for the use of peat sand
