    The student
    - knows how silvicultural measures affect the development of the stand structure
    - can plan and calculate costs for tending of seedling stands
    - can assess thinning needs and thinning strength
    - understands how different forms of thinning can be applied in different stands
    - knows the risks associated with windfall and how to prevent them
    - knows the main principles for forest fertilization on mineral soil
    - knows different forms of subsidies for silvicultural measures
