    Competence objectives of the study unit
    The student
    - knows how motor-manual harvesting is planned and implemented
    - can perform felling with a chainsaw in a safe way
    - can consider the assortment range when processing timber
    - can perform basic maintenance on chainsaws.
    Prerequisites
    No prerequisites.
    Content of the study unit
    Felling technology and work with chainsaws
    Occupational safety instructions for working with a chainsaw
    Planning work with chainsaw
    Review of assortment range and marking for cross-cutting
    Demonstration of the work technique for all parts when working with a chainsaw
    Work with chainsaws in the field
    Maintenance of the chainsaw in the field and in indoor service spaces
    The course is based on several of the global sustainability goals, mainly the goal of Decent work and economic growth
    Further information
    Lectures on work technique and safety are compulsory to be able to take part in practical training.
