    Competence objectives of the study unit
    The student
    - can plan and lead wood harvesting operations
    - can plan wood harvesting sites based on topography, carrying capacity of the soil and water conservation
    - can take into account cultural heritage, relics of antiquity, important habitats and threatened species
    - can plan the storage of timber and wood fuel at forestry road side
    - knows how the harvesting of windthrown timber is carried out
    - understands the cost structure of logging

    Methods to harvest wood
    Quality assessment of wood harvesting operations
    Legal agreements, contracts, responsibilities and occupational safety in wood harvesting
    Consideration of biodiversity, cultural heritage and relics of antiquity in wood harvesting
    The course is based on several of the global sustainability goals, mainly the goal of Decent work and economic growth
