Objective
The student should
- be able to plan and understand the structure of various pipes and cables such as water pipes, gas pipes, district heating pipes, electric cables etc.
Content
• The development of water pipe material historically
• The manufacturing process of plastic pipes
• Splicing and laying of wires
• Restoration of resins with resin material or equivalent
• Other restoration methods (cracking) and "no dig" technology
• Different types of wells (rainwater, wastewater, cable)
• Possible pollution in water pipes
• Maintenance of wiring
• Different methods of wiring electrical cables (working methods, protection, possible damage, quality control, costs)
• Construction of transformers (foundation, etc.)
• Worker safety in wiring and cable work
• The electricity distribution network in Finland, the foundation of large management foundations
• District heating lines with equipment
• Gas pipelines with equipment
