    Basic knowledge of various grounding methods including piling
    Knowledge of compiling simple basic plans
    Knowledge of norms and calculation bases, in particular the euro code EN 1997
    Know the principles and concepts in blasting technology

    Assessment criteria – satisfactory (1-2)
    Understands the factors that influence the choice of grounding method for building and infra-constructions and know the industry's norms and legislation.
    Can state simple basic tasks for bearing, moisture and tar.
    Understands the principles of how pile groundings are planned and executed and can make simple pile plates.
    Understands worker safety during excavation and foundation work and can plan simple earthworks.
    Understands the need for soil reinforcement and knows the usual soil reinforcement methods.
    Assessment criteria – good (3-4)
    Masters common grounding methods for building and infra-construction, as well as mastering industry standards and legislation.
    Can state basic information based on the Euro Code (EN 1997).
    Can plan pile bases, pile work and master quality control.
    Is familiar with worker safety during excavation and foundation work and can plan earthworks for different types of foundation work.
    Understands the need for soil reinforcement and can design simple soil reinforcements.
    Assessment criteria – excellent (5)
    Is familiar with standard foundational designs and can judge which methods are the most technically and economically appropriate. Master the industry's standards and legislation.
    Can establish a basic plan for structures with foundations, slabs and support structures in accordance with the Eurocode (EN 1997)
    Can plan piling grounds according to the Eurocode (EN 1997) based on soil probes and know the quality control according to the Eurocode.
    Is familiar with the safety of workers in groundwork and can plan earthworks for various types of blasting and foundation work.
    Is familiar with different soil reinforcement methods and can apply soil reinforcement to both new and old designs.
