Objective

The Student:
• Is familiar with the theory and practice of conservation of biodiversity, biological aspects of conservation, and systematic conservation planning
• Understands ecological principles and human dimensions of the conservation of biological diversity
• Is familiar with Natura 2000 and other conservation schemes

Content

The course deals with different aspects of Conservation Biology. Case studies studies and domain knowledge is provided by guest lecturers, researchers.

Teaching methods

Lectures, written assignment and presentation. Students are expected to interact during lectures and join the discussion in the class. They will prepare a presentation during the course and act as opponent during the presentation of the other students, complete a final written assignment.
