After passing the course, the student is expected to be able to define, identify and describe basic concepts in the sub-areas of strength learning torsional stresses and power transmission shafts and, based on the prerequisites obtained through the previous course Strength strength 1, be able to analyze load cases with combined flexural stresses and torsional stresses.
Furthermore, students should be able to understand the difference between static and dynamic load cases and the relationship between design, manufacture and service life. Students should be able to describe different approaches to critically analyze strength from a fatigue perspective.
