Operational Use of Electronic Chart Display
and Information Systems (ECDIS)
The course is designed to meet the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) competence requirements for ECDIS in the STCW Code, tables A-II/1, A-II/2 and A-II/3. The training sessions during the course have been conducted with type-approved ECDIS workstations in both classrooms and ship’s bridge simulators, fulfilling the STCW Convention, regulation I /12, and STCW Code, sections A-I/12 and B-I/12.
The course is designed in accordance with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Model Course 1.27 and comprises 40 hours of lectures and exercises.
