Objective

The student will be familiar with general boiler types, turbine and gas turbine systems onboard, how the different systems work onboard and their regulations. Furthermore, the student must be able to understand and use the correct terms.

• basic steam thermodynamics
• boiler safety and automation

• boiler water system and water treatment
• watchkeeping / steam system
