    Competence objectives of the study unit
    The student will:
    - be able to outline and apply the theory of intensive and emergency care to nursing and consider the specific caring needs of the patient who is critically ill or suffers from trauma
    - demonstrate skills in assessing, implementing and evaluating the nursing process in acute and intensive nursing care settings
    - become familiar with common problems in critical and acute care, and be able to implement that knowledge in simulated situations
    - become familiar with the technology of intensive and acute care settings and prepared to perform first aid in hospital settings
    - be able to perform resuscitation in various settings
