Objective

Develop the basic knowledge of the language: increase vocabulary; read texts about everyday situations and work on oral skills.

Content

5-6 chapters in course literature, dialogue practice, other verbal exercises. Written exercises, homework. 2-3 essays.

Content scheduling

Between weeks 37 to 42 we go through chapters 4b to 6b. Between weeks 42 and 48 we go through chapters 6b to 7b.

Assessment methods and criteria

In order to pass the course you need to have 75% attendance and have passed both partial exams with 60% correct answers for in every exam.

If you fail any of the exams, you can retake them two more times within one year after the course ends.

The student can produce sentences with the help of most of the structures that we go through during the course.

The student can use all structures and communicates with simple sentences.

The student can use the language without a problem and can produce complex sentences.

Qualifications

Suitable prerequisites are considered course 1 (completed), or 2-3 years of first or second cycle language studies, e.g. year 7-9 or secondary school.
