The student:
- has insight in the fundamental philosophical theories underpinning nursing research
- has insight in nursing theories that influence nursing research and nursing care
- has insight in the tradition and development of Caring Science - its history and future
- has insight in in the basic knowledge of ontology, epistemology and the ethos of Caring Science into different modules of clinical caring and nursing.
- can define qualitative research and can describe common qualitative research methods in nursing care
- understands ethics in nursing research
- can explain analysis and interpretation methods with qualitative data
- can describe techniques used to evaluate research
- understands how to use qualitative research findings in evidence based nursing care
- understands the research process and master the different phases of the process
