The student: 
- takes part in a multi-professional team and creates a natural caring relationship with the patient 
- communicates with patients and colleagues mainly at basic level in Swedish or Finnish, even though the main supervision is in English
- follows general rules and routines in the working environment
- can under supervision perform, implement and evaluate basic care
- is familiar with the specific needs of a patient
- can demonstrate  evidence-based nursing methods and interventions in basic care
- develops respect for the patients' integrity and autonomy 
- understands and can demonstrate aseptic and safe working methods
- can verbally report nursing activities and the patient´s condition
- understand the fundamentals of rehabilitation and demonstrate an ability to support the patient in the rehabilitation process
- shows evidence-based knowledge about common diseases and develops an understanding of the pharmacological treatment of the patient
- can perform safe drug administration under the supervision
- has knowledge about patient safety
