Objective

The student has
• the ability to understand and interpret a synoptic chart and to forecast area weather, taking into account local weather conditions and information received by weather fax or from the Internet.
• knowledge of the characteristics of various weather sys-tems, including tropical revolving storms and methods of avoiding these.
• the understanding of the effects of weather conditions on the choice of route and be able to use available weather services in the planning and follow-up of a route plan
