Objective

The Student:
- knowledge of mental health / ill health and traumatic crises
- can respond to, supervise and support clients and relatives with mental illness or in crisis
- know methods and working methods in psychosocial support
- can identify risks and resources in relation to addiction problems
- can take a stand on ethical dilemmas in working with people with mental illness and addiction problems
- has basic knowledge of mental and substance abuse legislation and can supervise mental and substance abuse services

- the most common mental disorders
-prevention of mental illness
- acute crises and crisis management
-the physical, psychological and social risks of the addiction problem
- treatment methods, self-help groups and inter-professional work
- co-dependency
- the legislation and forms of service of mental and substance abuse services
- ethical issues
