Objective

The Student:
- can orally and in writing deal with topics relating to one's own industry
- masters the central vocabulary of one's own industry
- masters the industry-typical communication situations
- can write and present central documents in professional Finnish, is aware of style differences and can use different styles in communication
- can understand the essence of various articles, texts and news related to one's own profession
- demonstrates the knowledge of Finnish required by law (424/2003) by civil servants and should demonstrate satisfactory (grade 1, 2 or 3) or good (grade 4 or 5) the ability to use Finnish in speech and writing.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Shows such skills in the Finnish language as are in accordance with the Act on the Knowledge of Languages Required of Personnel in Public Bodies (424/2003). This means that the student must show satisfactory (grade 1, 2 or 3) or good (grade 4 or 5) skills in speaking and writing Finnish. Written and oral skills are assessed separately
The ratings 4 or 5 are often required to get language supplements. In addition, some workplaces require that you have a good grade (4 or 5) in Finnish to get regular jobs.
