Lärandemål

The students
- have skills in communication on basic level in Swedish or/and Finnish with patients
- have skills in the the laboratory testing process from the preanalytical to the postanalytical, when carrying out laboratory examinations/tests, both in specimen collection and near patient examination.
- are able to meet the need of the patient in the specimen collection process
- are able to establish co-operative and harmonious working relationships with other health professionals
- have the ability to independently evaluate and manage new situations that belong to the area.
- have insights into patient safety and quality assurance and improvement.
- consider security and occupational safety as well as sustainable development in the laboratory.
- have insights into ethical issues and base their work on work ethical values

Clinical work practice in specimen collection, clinical biochemistry, clinical hematology, clinical microbiology, clinical physiology and neurophysiology, nuclear medicine, histopathology and cytology, transfusion medicine

Mandatory attendance 100%
Jobiili bookings up to date.
Approved practice assignments.
Documentation: Work certificate and signed working list.
Mandatory attendance at practice seminar.
Approved practice from clinical supervisor and teacher.

Periodisering av innehållet

Practice started spring 2025 and continuing autumn 2025.

Clinical practice is 37,5 h / week work at the practice organisation + 2,5 h / week selfstudies.

Practice may include:

3 weeks hematology (1 week coagulation, 1 week blood count analyser, 1 week microscopy)
1 week blood bank
5 weeks chemistry
3 weeks microbiology
2 weeks pathology/histology
2 weeks physiology
2 weeks sample collection (i.e. at a health care center)
1 week EKG

**Depends on what has been done during the spring.
