Objective

After completing the course, the student can:
- Determine if bending, cover layer, spacing and anchoring requirements are met for a design
- Sizing beams against bending moments and shear
- Design single-way bent plates according to bending and shear, and cut the reinforcement into continuous plates

- reinforcement anchor, cover layer, bending radii etc.
- Design against bending
- Design against shear

- Creating simple calculation bases

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Knows common symbols and designations as well as standards for concrete structures. Knows about the material properties of concrete.
Knows about the material properties of the reinforced steel, as well as cover layer and distance requirements
Can design beams and plates against bending and shear force. Know where there should be reinforcement in continuous beams and slabs.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Knows about frame systems, loads and calculation models for concrete structures.
Knows about the steel's material properties, bending requirements, cover layer and distance requirements.
Can design beams and plates against bending and shear force. Can design columns and walls against normal force and torque. Can roughly control deformations in reinforced structures.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Is familiar with the most central content of EN1992-1-1.
Knows about the steel's material properties, bending requirements, cover layer and distance requirements, as well as anchoring requirements in the editions.
Can design beams and plates against bending and shear force. Can design columns and walls against normal force and torque.
Can cut the reinforcement in continuous beams and slabs.
