Objective

The student:
- knows the basics of soil and climate science
- can identify different soil types and assess soil health
- knows different ways to establish autumn-sown crops
- can identify plant species in autumn-sown fields
- knows the need for plant protection in autumn-sown fields
- becomes familiar with experimental activities

Content

General introduction to soil science and climate science
Soil type determination and assessment of soil health in the field
Tillage equipment and results of autumn tillage measures
Identification of plant species in the field
Organization of field trials
The course is based on several of the global sustainability goals, mainly the goals of Responsible consumption and production, Life on land and Climate action.
