Objective

Gerontological care work:
The student:
- can, under supervision in the context of inter-professional cooperation, plan, execute and evaluate person-centered/client -centered care and take into account the cultural background of the patient and his/her relatives
- can use various evidence based care recommendations in the planning of care and can use sustainable and resource strengthening care methods
- can document and report
- demonstrates respect for the patient/client and close relatives and can identify ethical problems
- can assess and support the patient's/client's functional ability as well as the patient's and relatives' involvement in care
- can plan, execute and evaluate safe medicinal treatment
- understands the importance of patient and client safety and applies aseptic principles in patient care

Mental Care and Substance abuse treatment:
The student:
- can, under supervision in inter-professional cooperation, plan, implement and evaluate person-centered/client centered mental care and addiction treatment
- can use different evidence based care recommendations in the planning of care and can use central care methods
- can document and report
- treats patients professionally within mental care and substance abuse treatment
- can identify patient resources and collaborate with the patient and the inter-professional team
- has a reflective and ethical approach and takes into consideration the patient's right to self-determination and patient and client safety
- can guide the patient in mental health care and substance abuse treatment
- can plan, execute and evaluate safe medicinal treatment
