Objective
Student:
- understands the physiological course of childbirth
- can plan, implement, evaluate and document care during normal childbirth
- understands and can perform fetal monitoring during childbirth
can, in collaboration with the woman giving birth, realize pain relief
- has basic skills in handling care in case of delivery complications and abnormal births in collaboration with the care team
- masters safe drug treatment
- can identify ethical problems and demonstrate an ethical approach
- can professionally treat patients and relatives
- consider patient safety and apply aseptic principles in patient care

Clinical intrapartum care
Location and time
The course is conducted during the autumn term 2025.
Information and seminar are held at Alere.
Supervised clinical practice at delivery ward according to individual internship plan.

All documents must be submitted to the teacher no later than one week after completing the internship.

Performed and approved clinical practice.
Reflection diary.
Case with current theme from clinical practice, with references to at least two scientific sources.
Participation in internship seminar.
Student workload
27h / cr
1.5 cr / working week = 40 hours. Of these, 38 hours are performed at the internship and 2 hours are considered for individual assignments. The seminar comprising 3 hours is included in the total working hours.
