Objective

• The students have an idea for thesis from a chosen field of interest within industry and can formulate an aim and define it from the idea
• The students have established the aim with a theoretical frame of reference and can choose relevant content
• The students have deepened knowledge within the theoretical frame of reference
• The students are able to seek knowledge and information through databases
• The students have ability to start the scientific writing of the thesis

According to the lecturers instructions.
Students follow the thesis writing instructions for Novia UAS.
Data within the own research area.

Exam schedules

Spring 2024.
Week 7, Thursday 13 February, Idea seminar 9-16. Mandatory attendance the whole day.

Depending on the Thesis aim and focus area.

Completion alternatives

Finished idea and theoretical ground (including previous research).
Feedback is given at/after the idea seminar and during individual guidance sessions.

Student workload

The students work for 3cr, 81 hrs.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass:
The student has followed instructions and shows sufficient knowledge about the theme.
The student has shown interest.

Fail:
The student has not followed instructions and shows especially insufficient knowledge about the theme.
The student has not shown much interest.

The part is approved with pass/fail.
To get approved part, the thesis needs to be completed until chapter 5.
