Objective

After passing the course the student is expected to:
- know the most important types of measurement errors and ways to eliminate them.
- know and be able to use the most important engineering techniques, measuring methods and computerized measuring equipment.
- be able to select suitable measuring devices and method for measurements with regard to set tolerance requirements.
- be able to process statistical control methods for statistical acceptance.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Know about and can identify the measurement methods used in the engineering industry. Knows about the qualitative conditions that manufacturing methods provide and identifies which measurement methods are suitable for each measurement. Be able to read and understand technical drawings. Know the meaning of shape and position tolerances.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Is in agreement with computerized measurement technology. Understands what is meant by reference and location plans. Understands the impact of measurement and manufacturing method when analyzing the measurement result. Understand the importance of the validation process in quality assurance.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Independently be able to perform quality control of components against the requirements of the drawing. Understands reference and
the importance of the location plan in manufacturing. Can analyze the technical requirements that the design places on quality assurance.
