Objective

The student
- is aware of the regional differences in forestry in the coastal region of Finland
- knows how forest fertilization, soil amelioration and ash returning can be used to increase or secure the growth of a stand
- can carry out follow-up of silvicultural measures
- can provide pruning advice
- knows the special conditions for forestry in the archipelago.

Soil amelioration and forest fertilization
Quality controls in silviculture
Harvesting and forest management in an archipelago environment
Regional differences in forestry in the coastal region
The course is based on several of the global sustainability goals, mainly the goal of Responsible consumption and production
